The Foundation needed a full identity system that could serve every touchpoint, from signage and fundraising collateral to digital platforms and community events. The request was not for a refresh or evolution, but for a brand that would give them an authentic voice and a professional face for the first time.
The brief called for a logo system, color palette, typography, and tone of voice that together could become the Foundation’s visual and verbal DNA—scalable, recognisable, and ready for both digital and print use.
The brand was built from scratch around a distinctive logomark: a modern, page-inspired icon that reflects growth, knowledge, and renewal. We went through an in-depth internal ideation process as we do with all branding jobs, experimenting with various concepts and color combinations before arriving at our final destination.
Beyond the logomark, we developed a wider visual system to bring the brand to life across multiple touchpoints. Inspired by the Library’s architecture, we created bold, graphic illustrations that celebrate the building itself as a cornerstone of the community.
The vibrant color palette and simplified geometric forms transform the physical space into an iconic visual asset, making the library instantly recognizable even in abstract form. This approach not only connects the brand to its local roots but also provides a versatile set of visuals that can be used across digital, print, and environmental applications.
By elevating the Library’s presence through both symbol and setting, the brand now communicates a story of knowledge, accessibility, and community pride.
After a successful rebrand, focus turned to the website. The foundation's budget is tight and almost entirely focused on supporting the Madison Library District, but a website was needed to provide legitimacy to the foundation and help raise awareness. Teton Marketing Labs decided to provide support to the board members in building the website, donating time and advice. While still a work-in-progress with the foundation's board, the site helps community members and businesses find the foundation, volunteer their services, and donate.
Madison Library Foundation used its new identity to reinvigorate its volunteers and inform newcomers. Going after large grants from Idaho-based businesses and non-profits, as well as small donations from the community, Madison Library Foundation has raised around $20,000 since the rebrand was completed, utilizing the funds to buy new shelving and computers for the local library, as well as directly supporting library programs like Summer Reading. New volunteers have joined the ranks and the Foundation is planning on additional growth. Teton Marketing Labs is proud to support Madison Library Foundation in their community-building endeavors.
